The Infrared Sauna is available to book for 30 or 45min sessions from 7am-7pm Monday-Friday. If you are looking at the infrared sauna for its detox effects, I have also developed a Holistic Detox Package to really kick start it for you on every level.

What is Infrared Sauna Therapy?

Unlike traditional saunas that heat the air around you, infrared saunas use gentle infrared light to warm your body directly. This allows for a deeper detox at a lower, more comfortable temperature, & without the crazy humidity of a steam sauna.

The result? A soothing, full body experience that supports your nervous system, circulation, skin & mood without the discomfort of a conventional sauna.

Why do Women respond better the heat?

While ice baths have become trendy & just about every holistic, spiritual or health conscious person has tried one, most of the research showing the benefits of them has been done on men.

More recent studies (2023-2024) have found that for women, especially those with busy lives or regular stresses, heat therapy is gentler on the nervous system – promoting safety, calm & hormonal balance.

If you take the TCM approach of Yang Yin energy it also support the use of heat over cold for women. As women are generally more prone to excess of Yin energy, we need more Yang to balance our energy systems, for more optimal health & less symptoms.

Especially for women infrared heat doesn’t shock your system, it soothes it. It is the ultimate feminine form of regulation.

What to expect during your Infrared Sauna session?

Arrive hydrated & relaxed about 5min before your session time.

I will guide your through any setup information you need & adjust the temperature to your comfort & show you how to use the colour therapy lights.

You can bring a towel, or I can provide 1 for you.

Wear swimmers & light clothing that it easy to put back on afterwards. If you prefer underwear make sure you bring a spare set for afterwards.

You can meditate, journal, listen to music or a podcast or simply rest in the stillness.

After your session use the face wipes & face cloths to clean off, & spritz yourself with some deodorant.

Leave the towels & cloths in the sauna & I will take care of them when cleaning the sauna after your session.

Take your time to cool down rehydrate with the Kangen Water provided or a detox tea for $5 if you’d like 1 (must be ordered before your session so I can have it ready for you) & feel the calm ripple through you for the rest of the day.

Before & After Care Tips

  • Hydrate well before & after – I recommend & provide Kangen water during your sauna but make sure you keep hydrating after you leave as well.
  • Take it slow & listen to your body – there is a vent in the sauna ceiling to allow extra airflow & you can always open the door for a bit of extra fresh air
  • Pair it with breathwork, meditation, & journalling for a deeper release
  • Avoid heavy metals or alcohol before your session
  • Bring a water bottle with you. Even though I provide water, make sure you bring your own bottle (which I am happy to fill with Kangen water when you go) in from the car.

FAQ

How is an infrared sauna different from a traditional sauna?

Instead of steaming the air around your body the infrared waves heat your body directly allowing for a faster & more comfortable release.

What should I wear?

Less is best. I recommend swimmers or underwear but make sure you have a clean/dry set for afterwards. Loose comfortable clothes are best for afterwards. Nothing tight or skin fitting.

Can I use it while pregnant or breastfeeding?

It isn’t recommended in pregnancy, but you can ask your GP if they would recommend it in your case. When breastfeeding it is safe for you to use a sauna but you need to make sure you are really keeping on top of your hydration so that it doesn’t affect your supply. Just take it slow & listen to what your body is telling you carefully.

How often should I use it?

2-4 times a week is ideal for most to maximise the health benefits but you can adjust for your own goals & health conditions. If you are new to this, start out slow & work your way up to more frequent sessions.

Where & when can I book?

This Infrared Sauna is located in my healing space at Alana Marie Holistic Healing in Mulgoa. You can book your sauna anywhere from 7am-7pm Monday-Friday. Just keep in mind we do not have a shower available for you to use if you are going out or to work afterwards.

Can I bring a friend in with me?

This Sauna is sized for 2 people so you are able to bring 1 extra person into the sauna with you for a session for an additional $15. Please just let me know when you are booking or the day before so I can make sure I have extra towels & water ready for you.
